Internationell ungdomspolitik
Europeiska Unionen
Inom EU utformas just nu
en sammanhållen ungdomspolitik. Medlemsländerna har
enats om fyra prioriterade områden:
- ungdomars delaktighet
- information till ungdomar
- volontärtjänst för ungdomar
- bättre kunskaper om ungdomars situation
Sverige beskriver i en rapport sina tankar om ungas delaktighet
på följande vis:
“We suggest the following two main objectives:
• Increase young people’s opportunities for genuine
influence and participation.
• Promote young people’s initiative, enterprise
and creativity as a key resource in all spheres of society.
We also suggest the following sub objectives:
• Promote and support the development of youth organisations
(including national youth councils) and their structures.
• Support different kinds of forum for influence on local,
regional, national and European level.
• Increase the possibilities for both formal and real
influence in schools.
• Facilitate the participation of young people in international
conferences, where matters that concern them are at hand.
• Strive for a European Youth Policy built on openness
and transparency.”

Europarådet
Europarådets kommunalkongress (tionde sessionen) antog
21 maj 2003 ”Reviderad europeisk stadga angående
unga människors deltagande i kommunala och regionala angelägenheter”.
